The main statue is
. Senju Kannon 千手観音 Kannon with 1000 Arms .
Around 720, a local hunter found a statue of 千手観音 Kannon with 1000 Arms and one of
地蔵菩薩 Jizo Bosatsu coming out of the rocks.
He built the temple 出石寺 Shusseki-Ji (a rock giving birth) in their honor.

くもりなき 二名の島の 金山に みのりの光 かがやくを見よ
Located at 出石山 （いずしやま） Mount Izushiyama (812 m) with a beautiful view over the Setonaikai inland Sea.
In former times, bronze was found on the mountain and so he got temple the name 金山（きんざん） Kinzan "Golden mountain".
