さいたま市西区植田谷本504 / Saitama city, Nishi ward, Uetaya

The temple was founded in 863 by 益信 Priest Yakushin.
In the compound were found roof tiles from the Heian Period.
In 1220 the temple was revitalized by 円祐 Priest Enyu.
In the Edo period, 徳川家康 Tokugawa Ieyasu gave more land to the temple and
allowed it to distribute shuin 朱印状 red seals.
It was thus one of the 8 temples and shrines allowed to give these seals.
