ふりしよの　なにめてゝかけとゝめけん　道の場なる　金剛の寺

The temple burned down during the 保元の乱 Hogen Rebellion in 1156.
In 1190, Lord 畠山重忠 Hatakeyama Shigetada found the Kannon Statue in the ground
and had the Temple build in its present location.
In 1619, it had been restored.
