The Deity in residence is Takenouchi no Sukune 武内宿禰.

Takenouchi Skune, Takeuchi Sukune / 善神王（ぜんじょう） Zenjo

a legendary Japanese hero-statesman, and now a Shinto Deity.
He is worshipped as a God of longevity.

The date of the founding is not clear.
In 1111, on request of 石清水八幡宮 Shrine Iwashimizu Hachimangu in Kyoto, it was maybe founded
as the oldest Hachimangu Shrine in Izumo no Kuni.
Later there were eight Hachimangu Shrines in Izumo 出雲国八所八幡宮 and this was the most important.

一月一日は午前0時に初神楽と同時に多数の参拝者があり、
0時30分の初祈祷以後、御祈祷が続く

節分祭　2月3日または4日　6：30～
御祈祷者および家族には厄除ソバがふるまわれる。

武内神社大祭　8/31 - Main Festival of Takeuchi Shrine
夏休み最後の夏祭り。300軒余りの露店の明りは
不夜城のごとく深夜まで参拝者で賑わう。

平濱八幡宮御神幸式　9/15 16:00～
三基の御神輿が氏子の若者によってかつがれ、
古例にのっとって300ｍ離れたお旅所まで賑やかに往復する。
