The Kannon statue is 十一面觀世音菩薩 Juichimen Kannon.
A statue of Kannon in the compound:

The temple was founded around 1565 by 善通法印 Priest Zentsu Hoin.
There were about 16 smaller temples in the compound.
In 1897, the main hall was greatly repaired.
