Ryuusenji 龍泉寺 Ryusen-Ji, Aoyama
Ryusenji

2-8-25 / Minato ward, Minami-Aoyama

The Kannon statue is 子安観世音菩薩 Koyasu Kannon Bosatsu
The statue was made by 伝教大師 Dengyo Daishi.
Dengyo Daishi also made a statue of 薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai.
. Dengyo Daishi Saicho

The history of this temple is not clear.
It was originally located in 赤坂一ツ木町 Akasaka Hitotsugi district.
The statue was then called Hitotsugi Kannon.
Maybe the temple was relocated here by Tokugawa Ieyasu from 三河国 Mikawa, now Aichi,
Tokugawa Nobuyasu, the son of Ieyasu, committed suicide.
In 1642, priest 源譽 Genryo became the head priest there.
Genryo changed the name to 瀧泉寺 Ryusen-Ji.
After a fire in 1887, it was relocated from Akasaka.

- quote -
Matsudaira Nobuyasu
was the eldest son of Tokugawa Ieyasu.
His tsūshō ("common name") was Jirōsaburō (次郎三郎). He was called also "Okazaki Saburō" (岡崎 三郎), because he had become the lord of Okazaki Castle (岡崎城) in 1570.
Because he was a son of Tokugawa Ieyasu, he is often referred to, retroactively, as Tokugawa Nobuyasu
