中野長者 鈴木九郎 Nakano Choja - Suzuki Kuro
- quote
The temple Jogan-Ji was built by Kurou Suzuki 鈴木九郎 Suzuki Kuro in 1438.
Originally this was at another place in Nishi-Shinjuku district.
This was moved to the current place in the early Edo era, around 1600.
The precincts of the temple is large.
There are not only the main temple but also 洗心閣 Senshinkaku, 龍鳳閣、Ryuhoukaku, 円通閣 Entsukaku, 長者閣 Chojakaku and many Buddha statues.
We can see beautiful cherry blossoms in the graveyard from late March to early April.
And this temple has Kurou Suzuki's story who built it.
He was poor at first, but he became rich finally.
However he lost his daughter one day, and he became the Buddhist priest after that.
