Daikannon-Ji 大観音寺 - Ningyocho

中央区日本橋人形町1-18-9 / Chuo ward, Nihonbashi, Ningyocho

Sho Kanzeon Bosatsu 聖観世音菩薩 Sho-Kannon

The temple is rather new, it was built in 1880.
The main statue is 銅仏 made from copper. Maybe it dates back to 北条政子 Hojo Masako, who found it in a well. During the Kamakura period, it was venerated at the temple 新清水寺　（しんせいすいじ） Shinseisui-Ji in Kamakura around 1258.
The well is now called Tetsu no I 鉄ノ井 well where iron was found.
