The Kannon statue is 十一面観世音菩薩 Juichimen Kannon Bosatsu.

The temple was founded around 820.

開基は平安前期の弘仁年間(810～24)と伝えられる以外往昔の寺史は明らかでない。本尊の十一面観音は真言密教による祈祷の本尊として艶麗な姿に作られ
、鎌倉時代の特徴をよく表現しており、市の文化財に指定されている。
毎年八月九日深夜から十日にかけて、十日観音、四万六千日供養として本尊が開帳され、近在から多くの参詣がある。
現在は無住寺で、津市窪田町の一隅にひっそりと佇んでいるが、近在の檀家と信者により古刹は守られている。
又、本堂左手には現住職が奈良県信貴山より毘沙門天王を勧請し奉安されている。

Midokoro
十一面観世音菩薩＝ 頭上に十～十一の仏面を頂く観音で、衆生の十一の苦を転じ、仏果を与える広大な功徳を形に表したもの。
正面は慈悲、左方は憤怒、右方は白牙上出相、後方一面は大笑相、頂上一面は仏を表わす。
天平時代から信仰が盛んになり、ことに平安時代には民間信仰と結びつき、多くの像が作られ、
興味ある像が今に残されている。 ▽仲福寺の十一面観音立像△ 木造、彩色、像高86.5cm。鎌倉時代 寄木造りで、眼は彫眼、左手に蓮花を持ち右手は掌を前方に向けて下げ、中指と薬指を上に曲げている。頭上に十一の化仏。
正面に立像、頂上が大形の如来形となっている。
丸顔で眼、鼻、眉が大きく豊麗で両耳に巻毛を巻き、総体的に女性的にしている。
上半身はやや細身で、条帛や天衣、裳などの彫口や変化をもたせ、
作者の女性的表現に努めた傾向が伝わってくる。
後補が各所に見られるが、当初の基礎を維持している所から文化財に指定された。

The main statue is 大日如来 Dainichi Nyorai.

The statue of 薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai stood by its side.
The temple was founded by 藤原鎌足創建 Fujiwara no Kamatari.
It used to be called temple 盧遮那寺 Rushana-Ji.
It was a large temple with seven important buildings, but all burned down.
In 1503 it was rebuilt by a priest of 臨済宗 the Rinzai sect.

The new Yakushi Hall holds the statue of 菰野薬師 Komono Yakushi.

The Kannon statue is 十一面観世音菩薩 Juichimen Kannon Bosatsu.
It was made in 1575 by 運慶 Unkei.

The temple was founded in 837 by 忍性上人 Saint Ninsho.
In 1596, it was allocated more land by the local lord, 徳川頼宣 Tokugawa Yoirnobu
and seven important buildings were constructed.
The temple was allowed to use the family crest AOI「葵」of the Tokugawa clan.

In a fire at 1864, most buildings were lost.
In 1992, the main hall was rebuilt.
In the compound is 地蔵堂 a Jizo Do Hall.

Toorinji 桃林寺 Torin-Ji, Ogisu

The main statue is 釈迦牟尼佛 Shakamuni Buddha / 釈迦如来 Shaka Nyorai.

The temple has been built in 1181 by 将平資盛卿 Lord Shohei Sukemori.
The first priest was 覚快法親王 Crown Prince Kakukai, son of Emperor Toba.
The second priest was 慈円大僧正 Great Priest Jien.
At the time of the founding the precincts were quite large, with seven important bulidings.
Later it all burned down.
Since then it has been rebuild and burned down several times.
The large 梵鐘 temple bell is a prefectural cultural property.

The temple was founded in 1185 by 頼弁和尚 Priest Raiben.
The 山門 Mountain Gate was built in 1670 and relocated in 1668.
In the library are 大般若経六百巻 600 volumes of the Daihanya Sutra.

寺伝によると、延暦年間(782～806)椋本の北方薬師山に一宇を建て、薬師像を祀ったのが始まりで、爾来村里の氏仏として奉拝され、文治元年(1185)に本格的な寺院として整備された 元和元年(1615)に至り、今の地に二股竹が繁生し吉兆の仏縁を感得、この地(瓦岡野)に薬師堂を移築し、瓦岡山と号した。 さらに寛文年間(1661～73)頼弁和尚により中興され今日に及んでいる。本尊の薬師如来は弘法大師一刀三礼の作、千手観音は恵心僧都の御自作と伝えられている。本堂は寄棟造り、向拝は密教仏堂で中央方一間を内陣としている。山門は寛文八年(1668)の建立と伝える。
また当山には江戸中期の寄進と思われる大般若経六百巻が所蔵されている。境内の地蔵堂は、方形の小堂で堂々とした瓦製の露盤宝珠をあげている。
内陣に修理の跡はあるが、概ね古材を残し文久以前(1861前)の古建築であるといわれている。この建物は元々ここから500m西方の灌漑用の横山池の中にあったが、池の築造時にこの地に移築された。堂内には秘仏地蔵菩薩木像、胎内仏として石造聖観音像を収めていると伝えられる。脇壇には聖観音、大日如来、阿弥陀如来来迎像が祀られている。
また本堂と地蔵堂に掛かる鰐口について、両方の銘文をみると末寺であった千数寺(廃寺)との間でやりとりがあったらしく、
両寺の関係を知る上で数少ない金石文として貴重である。
この他、十六善神像や釈迦涅槃図を所蔵する。ちなみに開山の故地、薬師山には五輪塔の残欠や、小石仏が散在しており、伽藍地であったことを物語っている。
伝承の二股竹は今は繁生していないが、昔のものが原型のまま、外陣入口に掲げられている。
ほかにも古刹にふさわしい伝承が残されている。当山は東海四十九薬師第六番霊場でもある。

The main statue is 毘盧遮那如来 Birushana Nyorai ((Maka Birushana).

The temple was founded in 1202 by 重源上人 Saint Chogen.
The Buddha Statue was made by 仏師快慶 Master Carver Kaikei.

建久七年(1196)源頼朝は、この地に叔父の佐々木秀義の追善供養のため、一宇を建てた。建仁二年(1202)東大寺再興の大勧進職、俊乗坊重源上人が頼朝の協力を得て、この地に後鳥羽法皇の勅願寺として創建した祈願道場、伊賀別所が当山の始まりである。寺号を新大仏寺とした。鎌倉時代には十余坊を有し、隆盛を極めたと伝えられるが、天正年間(1573～92)の戦乱で、伽藍の大半を失い荒廃の一途をたどる。芭蕉が「丈六にかげろう高し石の上」と詠んで荒廃ぶりを嘆いたのは、貞享五年(1688)のことである。その後、享保十一年(1726)陶榮和尚が再興を発願し、藤堂藩の庇護を仰いだ。
大仏修復を終え仮堂に安置したが、享保十四年(1729)所願果たせず、中興二世宝梁律師が延享五年(1748)に上棟し、入仏したのが現大仏殿である。
その後寺容を整えつつ今日に至っている。本尊毘盧遮那如来坐像は、木造、漆箔、台座を含めると高さ6mに及び、木造仏では類をみない大仏である。仏師快慶初期の作で若々しい張りがあり、国指定重要文化財である。このほか、興正菩薩画像、俊乗上人坐像、僧形坐像、板彫五輪塔も国指定重要文化財である。舎利塔は県指定文化財になっている。成田山を勧請して「伊賀の成田山」と呼んでいるが「阿波の大仏さん」、雨乞いの寺としても知られ八百年の歴史を刻む伊賀屈指の大刹である。

緑深い山が境内地になっており、麓に大仏殿、上人堂、開山堂など十数の堂宇が建てられている。平成七年に落慶した山門は立派なものである。ご本尊は宝蔵庫に安置され、春秋大祭日と正月以外は拝観料三百円を要する。境内では桜・あじさい・もみじや秋名菊が楽しめる。
伊賀四国八十八カ所第四番霊場、東海三十六不動尊第二十八番霊場、東海白寿三十三観音十四番霊場でもある。

The main statue is 薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai.

- Chant of the temple
おん　ころころ　せんだり　まとうぎ　そわか

A temple by the name 鳳凰寺 Boo-Ji already existed in the 白鳳時代 Hakuho period (645 - 707).
This temple was founded in 1598 by 清存法印 priest Seizon Hoin.
It was large with 七堂伽藍 the uusal seven buildings.
It is an important cultural property of the prefecture.
The temple burned down in 1578 during the Tensho Iga War
and again various times during rebellions.
In 1964 the main hall was newly built.

The temple has many treasures apart from the statue of Yakushi Nyorai,
like 如意輪観音菩薩,、弘法大師,、不動明王,、阿弥陀如来,、地蔵菩薩 and 役行者
In the compound is the main hall, a 庫裡 storage hall and 地蔵堂 a hall for Jizo Bosatsu.

The pilgrim statue is 普賢菩薩 Fugen Bosatsu..

The temple was founded in 1356 by 天海 Tenkai.
It burned down 1n 1360.
It was rebuilt in 1366.
In 1771, it burned down again.
In 1602 the present-day 山門 main gate was built

The temple is famous for its sakura cherry blossoms in spring.
They are included in the 100 best views of Kawagoe 川越景観百選.

At the Temple 延命寺 Enmei-Ji there is a statue of a naked Jizo Bosatsu with female genitals.
In former times the wife of 北条時頼 Hojo Tokiyori had betted on the game Sugoroku
that she would get naked if she looses.
And indeed, she lost.
She went to pray to Jizo Bosatsu, who changed into a naked woman in her place.
People now made a statue of Jizo and gave it to the temple.

It is also called a 狗嬪 Gubin Yokai monster road.
Gubin is a kind of Tengu.

oni 鬼 a demon
In the village 南河内郡川上村 Kawakami in the Minami-Kawachi district there is a place
called 鬼住 Oniju (Onizumi) - "Where the Demons live".
During the time of Emperor 舒明天皇 Jomei Tenno (593 - 641)
there lived a bad demon at 葛城山 Mount Katsuragi who ate the children and the harvest.
To get rid of the demon, people prayed to Bonten 氏神大梵天 Great Brahma, the guardian deity.
The deity made a very strong rain and with great weapons and huge noise to help the villgers.
At the temple 延命寺 Enmei-Ji the weapons like bows and arrows are still kept.
Onizumi mura 鬼住村(おにずみむら) - the village Onizumi.

The main statue is 薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai

The temple was founded around 1600 by 照庵慧最和尚　Priest Shoan Keisai.
Once there was a fire in the nearby temple 高讃寺 Kosan-Ji and the two statues of
薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai and 聖観音菩薩 were bruoght here to be safe.
The statue of 阿弥陀如来 Amida Nyorai has a small statue of Amida Nyorai in its inside.
On the transom are carvings of Buddha and the 12 important disciples.

In the cliff in front of the main hall are stone statues of
十六羅漢 the 16 Arhats.
This is a speciality of the Temple.

A Zen-priest named 無因 Mu-In hit the corner of a rock with his staff many times.
The rock burst and water came flowing out. White clouds came up and
seiryuuu 青龍 an Azure dragon came out and moved to heaven.
This is the origin of the Temple name 青龍山瑞泉寺 Seiryuzan Zuisen-Ji.
