. Koya San in Wakayama 高野山 和歌山県 .
The Lotus Sutra, Hoke-kyoo 法華経、Hokekyo describes various deities as Bosatsu concerned with light offerings.

- quote -
The Lotus Sūtra (Sanskrit: Saddharma Pundarika Sutra,
literally "Sūtra on the White Lotus of the Sublime Dharma")

is one of the most popular and influential Mahayana sutras, and the basis on which the Tiantai, Tendai, Cheontae, and Nichiren schools of Buddhism were established.
According to British professor Paul Williams,
"For many East Asian Buddhists since early times, the Lotus Sutra contains the final teaching of the Buddha, complete and sufficient for salvation."

In Shizuoka, 駿河国宇度郡 Suruga, Udo District, near 三保の松原 Miho no Matsubara.

Not much is known about this heavenly maiden. She appeared at the beach of Udohama and became the wife of a fisherman.

. Miho no matsubara 三保の松原 Miho pine grove .

Miho no Matsubara is known as the site of the legend of Hagoromo 羽衣 "the Feathered Robe",
which is based on the traditional swan maiden motif.
The story of Hagoromo concerns a celestial being flying over Miho no Matsubara who was overcome by the beauty of the white sands, green pines, and sparkling water. She removed her feathered robe and hung it over a pine tree before bathing in the beautiful waters.
A fisherman named Hakuryo was walking along the beach and saw the angel. He took her robe and refused to return it until she performed a heavenly dance for him. As the angel could not return to heaven without her robe, she complied with Hakuryo's request. She danced in the spring twilight and returned to heaven in the light of the full moon leaving Hakuryo looking longingly after her.

Kobu-zaka (Lump Slope)
In olden times, there was a sick man with a big "kobu (lump)", over his eye. Hoping to be cured, he went to Arima Onsen and prayed to Yakushi Nyorai to heal him. Despite coming all the way to Arima and bathing in the hot springs, he was not cured. Resigned to his fate, the sick person decided to leave Arima.
Incidentally,
there is a slope to the east of Arima. As the sick man was walking up the slope to leave Arima, the lump miraculously dropped from above his eye like ripe fruit dropping from a tree. When people heard about that they started calling the place "Kobu-zaka (Lump Slope)". This sloping path going from Arima Onsen to Zuihoji Temple is now neatly paved.

So Gyoki ate half of the fish, including one eye.
Now the man said he had black pocks all over his body and wanted Gyoki to lik them. When Goyki started to lik his skin, the man suddenly changed and stood there as Yakushi Nyorai.
He had only tried the purity of Saint Gyoki.
The fish was thrown into the pond, but now he had only one eye.
