福岡県鞍手郡鞍手町古門1584 / Fukuoka, Kurate town, Furumon
The Yakushi statue is 薬師瑠璃光如来 Yakushi Ruriko Nyorai.
The temple was founded during the reign of 土御門天皇 Emperor Tsuchimikado (1198 - 1209)
and called 右芳山願成院 Uhozan Ganjo-In.
In 1183, a hot spring was found near by.
The Lord 平定盛 Taira no Sadamori (917 - 989) built a bath house, called
Onsen Yakushi 温泉薬師 Yakushi of the Hot Spring or 湯薬師.
In 1868, the temple was almost abolished, but was supported by the villagers.
In 1913, the villagers from 荒五郎山区 the Aragoroyama district gathered around 依藤与蔵 Yorifuji Yozo
and offered a statue of 薬師瑠璃光如来 Yakushi Ruriko Nyorai.

Former Home of Ito Tsunetari . Itō Tsunetari 伊藤常足 (1775 - 1858)
Tsunetari Ito known as an educator along with a Shinto priest and a Japanese scholar from the latter half of the Edo period wrote 82 volumes of the topographical book 太宰管内志 Dazaikannaishi over 37 years.
Tsunetari lived in this straw thatched one story wooden house from the age of 13.
Recreations of diagrams and documents from the period are on display as well as farming equipment.
