Gokokuin 護国院 Gokoku-In - Ajima, Nagoya
味鏡山 / みきょうざん　Mikyozan　天永寺 Tenei-Ji　護国院 Gokoku-In .

愛知県名古屋市北区 楠味鋺2-732 / Aichi, Nagoya city, Kita ward, Kusunoki Ajima

The main statue is 薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai

The temple was founded in 745 by 行基上人 Saint Gyoki Bosatsu.
. 行基菩薩 Gyoki Bosatsu (668 -749) .
It was first called 薬師寺 Yakushi-Ji (Temple for Yakushi Nyorai).
During a flooding of the river 庄内川 Shonaigawa in 948, the main statue was lost.
In 1111 during the reign of 鳥羽天皇 Toba Tenno (1103 - 1156) the hall was rebuilt and the temple named
護国院 Gokoku-In (temple to protect the country).
