十一面観世音菩薩 / 品川千躰荒神 Shinagawa Sentai Kojin

- Chant of the temple
龍吟じ 品川の海に 雲おこり み仏の慈悲 ありがたきかな

Founded in 1251.
In 1673, the temple was named 瑞林院 Zuirin-In.
In 1695, 海雲寺 Kaiun-Ji was founded nearby and in 1690 both temples were united under the name Kaiun-Ji.
The main hall has many waniguchi 鰐口 gongs.

Nearby is the
千躰荒神堂 Sentai Kojin-Do Hall
with a remarkable ceiling with crests of the fire brigade.

鐘楼 - 大明王堂 bell tower and Myo-O Hall
The bell tower was erected in the 20th century.
Next to it is a small hall to venerate Ususama Myo-O, guardian of toilets.

品川区 Shinagawa ward

. Aragamisama, Kojin sama 荒神様 Hearth Deity .
At a restaurant in front of Shinagawa station there was a fire.
The owner took a small zushi 厨子 house shrine with the 荒神様 Kojin Deity, climbed on the roof and opened it toward the flames.
Suddenly the direction of the wind changed and the fire died down.
