The main statue is 薬師如来 Yakushi Nyorai.

おん　ころころ　せんだり　まとうぎ　そわか

The temple was founded in 1559 by 法院紹盛上人 High Priest Saint Shomori.
He named the temple 神福寺 Shinpukuji and built seven halls.
It became the clan temple of the 織田信孝 Oda Nobutaka (1559 - 1583).
In the Edo period all was lost in a fire after a great earthquake.
In the early Meiji period the spellilng was changed to 慎福寺 Shinpukuji.
In the compound is also 金毘羅稲荷堂 a Hall for Konpira Inari.
In the compound is a special old tree, しだれ銀杏 weeping shidare-Gingko.
For the many yearly festivals and rituals, many people come to visit.
