The main statue is 阿弥陀如来 Amida Nyorai.

おん あみりた ていぜい からうん
The temple was founded in 1204 by 定舜法師 Priest Teishun,
who came from 京都泉涌寺 the Temple Sennyu-Ji in Kyoto.
Around 1520, it was revitalized by 乗覚照範和尚 Priest Shohan, who built a new hall.
At that time there were 43 sub-temples and more than 1000 soldier-monks.
The temple burned down around 1580 and now only the main hall is left.
Around 1662 信行法師 Priest Shingyo revitalized the temple.
Shingyo was born in Kuwana.
The lord of the region, 松平定重 Matsudaira Sadashige (1644 - 1717)
had the temple rebuilt and gave it more land.
The name 土佛 Dobutsu refers to the Buddha statue (butsu) made of earth (do)
by 信行法師 Priest Shingyo, who was a skilled craftman.
The present 阿弥陀堂 Hall for Amida Nyorai was built in 1850.
The main statue was made by Priest Shingyo.
A statue of 不動明王 Fudo Myo-O is placed in a cave and called
gankake Fudo 願かけ不動 Fudo to make a wish.
In 奥の院 the Oku no In Hall is Akiba do 秋葉堂 the Akiba Hall.
Here many deities are worshipped 秋葉三尺房大権現, whith Akiba Daigongen in the center:
恵比須神、天手力雄命、九頭龍大神、地蔵菩薩、聖観世音菩薩、大聖歓喜天 ...
