The Kannon statue is 浦島観世音菩薩 Urashima Sho Kannon.

The temple is famous for its relation to Urashima Taro.
. Urashima Taro 浦島太郎 .
A Japanese legend about a fisherman who rescues a turtle and is rewarded for this with a visit to Ryūgū-jō, the palace of Ryūjin, the Dragon God, under the sea. He stays there for three days and, upon his return to his village, finds himself 300 years in the future.

- quote -
Taro Urashima was in Kanagawa!?
A person named Taro Urashima of Mizue lived in Miura no Sato, Sagami Country.
Taro has been to Tango for a long time for work. When Taro, the child, went out to the sea all day and returned home, he helped a turtle bullied by children on the beach. Taro went to "Ryugu Castle" with a helping turtle and received the hospitality of Otohime. The passing of the moon is a dream, and three years have passed.
When he told his spare time in love with his parents, Otohime spared his farewell and gave Taro a Tamate box and a statue of Kanzeon Bodhisattva.
Taro, who stepped on his hometown, had nothing to see and hear. Finally, when he opened this box, white smoke came out from inside and he became an old man with white hair.
He thought it was three years, in fact, 300 years, and when Iheheard that his parents were already buried in the peak of Shirahata, Musashi, not in this world, the two tombstones were lined up lonely.
Taro tied the hermitage beside the tomb and laid a statue of the Bodhisattva, mourning his parents' bodhi, but this hermitage was later called Kanfukuju-ji Temple, and was commonly called "Urashihara". Kanju-ji Temple was abandoned in 1872, and now a statue of Kanzeon Bodhisattva is enshrined at Keiun-ji Temple. In addition, there is a memorial tower for Urashima Tayu and Taro father and son and a monument to Kamezuka at Renhoji Temple in Urashimaoka.
In addition, the river that flowed along the border between Nanashima and Oguchi-dori is a river where Taro Urashima washed his feet, so there is a monument to the Ashiarai River at Oguchi-dori, and a well where Taro washed his feet at 1-chome Koyasu-dori.
